12 Kolkata: After East Bengal and Mohammedan Sporting, Mohun Bagan club has also raised its voice over growing tensions in Bangladesh.
Following an executive committee meeting on Tuesday, the century-old club adopted a resolution expressing concerns over "the current situation in Bangladesh," seeking to draw Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Mamata Banerjee's attention to the issue.
East Bengal club — which has had historic roots in the neighbouring country and has a sizeable fan base there — has already written a letter to Modi, seeking his govt's intervention in resolving the issue and highlighting suffering faced by the red-and-gold supporters living there.
On Tuesday, hundreds of East Bengal supporters took out protest rallies in various districts in this regard.
Mohammedan Sporting club has also decided to send a delegation to the deputy high commissioner of Bangladesh, seeking "an immediate end" to attacks on the minorities in the neighbouring country.
