• Suvendu hits back at Mamata’s accusation of ‘one party spreading fake videos of Bangladesh’, says she made ‘politically motivated statement’

  • After Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s statement on “one political party spreading fake videos” of alleged attacks in Bangladesh, Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari criticised her statement. “Who is doing propaganda? Some people are attacking the temple, is it false?” he told mediapersons outside the Assembly on Monday.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said in the Assembly without naming the BJP, “Fake videos are being spread by a political party. Those who think that there will be political gains in this opportunity… they know that it will harm you.”

Adhikari said, “Only Mamata Banerjee is fake and she is doing appeasement politics here. Because of that, she is giving such false and politically motivated statements.”

He claimed, “The Chief Minister understood that people are angry about what is happening in Bangladesh. People are coming with the BJP to protest against those atrocities. Now she is trying to control the damage.”

A man named Mikson Halder on Monday came to the Assembly and met Adhikari. Later he said, “I am a resident of Barisal district. After the fall of the Hasina government, we, the Hindu community, were attacked and our assets were looted. I fled away by road and took shelter in West Bengal. Today I met Adhikari and explained to him how Hindu communities were attacked in Bangladesh.”

The Leader of Opposition said, “Bangladesh is now in the hands of extremist and radical forces. Police, army, and caretaker governments are puppets now. I would appeal to all countries, especially responsible countries like America and India to stop the radicalism of Bangladesh and save Hindus and Buddhists.”
