Kolkata: The Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) of Scottish Church College has sent a letter to the physical education teacher, requesting his reply before next Wednesday in connection with the sexual harassment case. A second-year student had filed a plaint against the teacher, Samir Roy, for sexual harassment through text messages and inappropriate touching during practical classes. One ICC member said: "He has been given 10 days to respond, after which further proceedings will be made. The student told us she didn't want to go to cops and asked us to probe the matter."
Meanwhile, to select three student representatives, some students had organised voting. "We were in the dark. We have sought clarification from higher education department," said principal Madhumanjari Mandal. tnn
