Kolkata: The state College Service Commission has launched a mobile app, TrackMate, to monitor the transport route of exam materials.
The app is one of the several measures that the commission has taken ahead of state eligibility test (SET) on Dec 15 to ensure transparency. On the app, the panel will monitor vehicles ferrying exam materials, including answer scripts and question papers. Also, only authorised persons can access the materials kept in a keyless, password-protected lock system.
"Following complaints of irregularities in past exams, we are taking these steps for security and transparency," said commission chairperson Dipak Kar. The panel has told all the 87 exam centres to open question paper packets inside exam halls. Every question booklet will be embedded with a QR code for cybersecurity. A total of 58,867 candidates have registered for the tests, to be held in two shifts —one from 10.30 am to 11.30 am and the other from noon to 2 pm. —Poulami Roy Banerjee
