Kolkata: A 58-year-old sub-inspector (SI) from Barasat police station in North 24 Parganas was stabbed by a youth after cops arrived at his home to investigate allegations of domestic violence by his parents early on Friday.
The SI, Dudh Kumar Halder, who was struck on the head and chest with a sharp weapon, is undergoing treatment at a private hospital and is in a serious condition. Police arrested the accused, Dipayan Sarkar (28), and seized the weapon. Sarkar was remanded in police custody for five days after being produced in a Barasat court on Friday afternoon. tnn
