12 Kolkata: The Calcutta High Court is likely to hear a petition against Lake police station against whom it was alleged that they have been repeatedly summoning an 80-year-old cancer patient in a landlord-tenant civil dispute. The plea was filed before Justice Tirthankar Ghosh on Friday. The high court is likely to hear it on Monday.
According to the petition, the dispute involved a landlord claiming Rs 1.2 lakh dues from his tenant. Over this issue, police summoned the octogenarian cancer patient to the police station.
According to the complaint, the elderly person was dragged to the police station in an ambulance and stretchered in. The petition alleges that the octogenarian cancer patient was even made to wait at the police station. And before leaving, he was handed over another summons to appear at the police station on Dec 17.
