  • Kolkata: West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences has scored an A+ grade with a CGPA of 3.32 from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). This is the first time that WBNUJS initiated the process of getting accreditation from NAAC.

"Glad to know that the NUJS, Kolkata has been awarded A+ grade by NAAC. Among other things, its introduction of forensic science studies and its tie-up with Cambridge University and King's College, London have been valued. The most important and noteworthy thing is: the state government has provided 5% of the total students of NUJS complete tuition fee waiver, and our students from economically weaker sections have thus gained access to this premier centre of education," CM Mamata Banerjee wrote on ‘X'.

Vice-chancellor Nirmal Kanti Chakrabarti said: "It is after 24 years that we initiated the process of getting accreditation from NAAC and performed well in the first cycle itself. The strength of NUJS, as observed by the NAAC peer team, is that the institute continuously innovates its academic offerings to meet the evolving demands of the legal landscape." He added that the strategic alliances of NUJS with other national and international stakeholders have been praised.
