  • Kolkata: The special PMLA court asked the Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday to frame charges in the SSC job-for-cash case at the earliest. Following a Supreme Court order, the investigating agency is likely to frame charges before the start of the winter vacation on Dec 24.

On Wednesday, former state education minister Partha Chatterjee and other accused Ayan Sil and Santu Ganguly were produced before the court virtually. When the judge asked the correctional home authorities why Ganguly was not produced physically in the court, his lawyer said that he was not keeping well.

The ED has already filed the fifth chargesheet in the case where it named 28 people as accused. Some of the accused claimed that they were yet to receive a summons from the ED. The judge scheduled the next hearing for Dec 20.
