Jessore Rd to stay partly shut for 48 hrs from today

Kolkata: A portion of Jessore Road adjoining Barasat district headquarters and surrounding areas in North 24-Parganas will remain closed for 48 hours on Saturday and Sunday due to renovation work on the road adjacent to Barasat Kazipara railway gate.
Vehicles heading from Kolkata towards Bongaon along Jessore Road are being diverted from Icore More at Barasat Champadali via Colony More along NH-12, and then redirected to Jessore Road through Santoshpur. District administration said alternative routes would be available.
Additional cops had been deployed to manage traffic, DSP (traffic), Alok Ranjan Munshi told TOI. tnn
