123 Kolkata: New Town Kolkata Development Authority (NKDA) has identified several damaged road stretches and defunct street lights in many roads across New Town, which will be repaired and restored.
The authorities have initiated the process to engage agencies to take up the work in Jan.
Among road stretches identified for fresh bituminous resurfacing are Street No. 32, 43, 39, 88, 74, 48, 46, 53, 41, 97, 77, 70, 72, 45, 124, and 104 in Action Area I, with an estimated cost of around Rs 2 crore, and Street No. 666, 705, 729, 707, 626, and 628 in Action Area-IIC and IID, with an estimated cost of Rs 1.7 crore.
Officials said the stretches developed wear and tear at places, which would be repaired. NKDA earlier took up road patchwork in several stretches of the township.
The authorities also identified several stretches across New Town where street lights will be restored. These are Street No. 709, 634, 626, 578, 566, 505, 501, 617, 674, 680, 743, 733, and others.
