  • Kolkata: Framing of charges in the SSC jobs-for-cash case was stalled on Monday after accused Sujay Krishna Bhadra, alias ‘Kalighater Kaku', was admitted to a private nursing home after falling ill. The special PMLA court ordered the process to remain "reserved" until all the accused persons were available.

Framing of charges in the case started on Dec 26 against 54 accused persons and companies. ED said the accused persons should be charged with Section 3 (money laundering and attempting to present them as untainted property) and Section 4 (punishment for the offence) of the PMLA, read with Section 70 (money laundering by companies). The judge fixed the next date of hearing on Jan 2.
