Kolkata: CM Mamata Banerjee is likely to release the 2024-2025 administrative calendar in a review meeting at Nabanna on Thursday afternoon, said sources. The meeting aims to review the progress and shortcomings of various schemes and projects. All ministers, departmental heads, special secretaries, DMs and senior police officers have been asked to attend.
The CM, in her preface to the administrative calendar, has stated that a web-based monitoring system — administrative calendar compliance reporting system (ACCRS) — was formulated to achieve good governance by timely review at each level.
The calendar, while containing the roadmap till March, highlights some of the major goals achieved in 2024. It showcases the success of the animal development department along with social security schemes like Lakshmir Bhandar, Kanyashree, Medhashree, Shikshashree, Rupashree and Khadya Sathi.
Sources said that according to the calendar, the women and child welfare department in Feb aims to verify all applications related to old age and widow pension and the Jai Bangla pension scheme.
The home department's calendar, said sources, mentions the creation of Bhangar division in Kolkata Police and lists the plans of submission of annual action plans to MHA and construction of new police station buildings at AJC Bose (Botanical Garden), Rajpur, Baruipur, Arambagh, Bishnupur, Pingla, Nalhati, Contai, Pandua and Patashpur.
The judicial department has the target of repairing parts of the Bankshall court and will ensure child-friendly POCSO courts, sources said..
In Jan, the labour department is supposed to take a special job drive and will arrange skill training for domestic helps. It will also hold special training for ESI doctors, sources said.
The calendar of the industries department speaks about readying industrial parks at Panagarh, Bankura, Falta and Uluberia and auctioning the sand blocks. BGBS is also scheduled in Feb, sources said.
