Kolkata: On New Year's Day, the Service Doctors Forum, Medical Service Centre, and the Nurses Unity called for the ‘Abhaya Pledge', promising not to back out from the movement for justice for the 31-year-old PGT who was found raped and murdered on Aug 9, 2024. The three organisations said they will intensify the movement until justice is delivered for the junior doctor who was brutalised during duty hours at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
While the programme was held in many medical colleges, the one at RG Kar saw a good attendance. Meanwhile, the West Bengal Junior Doctors' Front has also launched a toll-free number urging people to connect with them in their further movement for justice for Abhaya.
