12 Kolkata: The state health department has laid down the specifics for reporting each road traffic accident (RTA) death. Each govt hospital where an accident victim dies must submit the report in the particular format issued on Tuesday. This is part of the RTA death audit that the state has launched with the aim of improving treatment outcomes.

Each hospital has to set up an audit panel for this purpose. For each death, hospitals have to report if the clinicians felt that better care should have been provided or if any unintended injury was caused during management. Hospitals have to submit the weekly report by every Monday. tnn
