Jalpaiguri: A sub-inspector (SI) posted at Jalpaiguri's Rajganj PS has been accused of raping a Siliguri woman at his home on Friday. The survivor lodged a complaint with Siliguri Women PS on Saturday. She also wrote to the Siliguri commissioner of police, accusing six cops of harassing her when she had gone to register an FIR.
The woman alleges that she had been summoned to Rajganj PS by the accused SI Subrata Goon.
Jalpaiguri SP Khandbahale Umesh Ganpath said Goon had been closed and a probe started. "Steps will be taken in accordance with the investigation results," he added.
Sandip Mandal, the woman's lawyer, alleged that cops had not conducted a medical test of the survivor despite several appeals.
