Two PILs were filed before the Calcutta High Court over the death of a woman at a govt-run hospital after alleged administration of expired intravenous fluid. Both will be heard on Thursday by the division bench of Chief Justice T S Sivagnanam and Justice Hiranmay Bhattacharyya. The petitioner's lawyer, Phiroze Edulji, told the division bench on Monday the company supplying the IV fluid was red-flagged by the Karnataka govt in March 2024, and was banned from supplying the product for three years. Edulji prayed for the probe to be transferred to CBI. TNN
