    Times of India | 15 January 2025
  • Kolkata: Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday started questioning key witnesses in the SSC job-for-cash case in an "in camera proceeding". The court had earlier allowed the anonymity of the three "vulnerable wi-tnesses" to be maintained. ED will question the witnesses again on Thursday.

After the special PMLA court's directive, ED started framing charges in the case on Dec 26, 2024, against 54 accused persons and companies. The investigating agency argued that the accused should be charged under Section 3 (money laundering and attempting to present them as untainted property) and Section 4 (punishment for the offence) of the PMLA, read with Section 70 (money laundering by companies).
