Kolkata: Gear up for a spectacular celestial show with six planets lining up for a planetary parade in the sky. Mars, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Neptune, and Uranus will align in evening sky. Two planets — Venus and Saturn — appeared two degrees apart in the sky on Friday. All the six planets can be viewed on Jan 25 when Mercury joins the line-up for a short while.Saif Ali Khan Health UpdateDoctors give health update: 'Saif needs rest; spine injury may get infected''Kitna time lagega': Auto driver recounts rushing Saif Ali Khan to hospital after attackUrvashi apologises for insensitive remarks on Saif
According to Birla Industrial and Technological Museum director-in-charge Arnab Chatterjee, Mars, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn will be easily visible to the naked eye. A telescope or high-powered binoculars aid in seeing Neptune and Uranus.
"Reddish Mars will shine on the eastern horizon, in the constellation Gemini. Bright Jupiter will be positioned a little higher, in the constellation Taurus. Uranus will be in the constellation Aries, near the border with Taurus. The next three planets will be located closer to the western horizon. Neptune will be in the constellation Pisces. Yellowish Saturn and the ‘evening star' Venus will be easily visible. They will shine close together in the constellation Aquarius," said Chatterjee.
BITM will be arranging live viewing on the museum premises, accompanied by a popular talk, science show, and virtual simulation of the event between Jan 21 and 25. The best time to watch will be after sunset around 8.30 pm.
