12 Kolkata: At least three people, including a driver and three passengers, were severly injured when a speeding goods vehicle that violated a red signal crashed into an app-based cab on the airport-bound flank of the Belgharia Expressway on Friday morning, cops said.
"An airport-bound white sedan that stopped at the Dhalai Karkhana Road crossing on the Belgharia Expressway after the signal turned red was hit at the rear-end by a speeding goods vehicle," a senior officer of the Barrackpore traffic police said. The driver of the goods vehicle carrying sand was detained.
Cops suspect that early morning fog might have reduced visibility in the area.
