  • The All India Forward Bloc (AIFB) has announced a rally on January 29, from Mahajati Sadan to Dharmatala, to mark the birth week of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose who founded the party.

“The rally will be held against the Central Government’s anti-farmer policy and to safeguard secularism in Bengal. The rally will also demand immediate recruitment to various vacant posts in West Bengal and the Central government,” said AIFB state committee member Farid Mollah.

Left Front chairman Biman Bose and Forward Bloc state secretary Naren Chatterjee paid tributes to Netaji at Subodh Mullick Square. Forward Bloc is a part of the Left Front.  “The Left Front government had announced Netaji’s birthday (January 23) as ‘Deshoprem Dibas’, but the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government withdrew that. We have already appealed against that in the Calcutta High Court,” Mollah said.
