West Bengal’s former education minister Partha Chatterjee, prime accused in the cash-for-job scam in the education department, was admitted to the ICCU of the SSKM Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata, Thursday night after his health deteriorated. A medical team has been formed to monitor his condition and to take decisions for the next course of treatment.

The hospital sources said, the former minister was shifted to the ICCU of cardiology department from the emergency observation ward Saturday following complications in the heart functioning.

Chatterjee, who has been in jail for almost three years, was brought to the hospital from Presidency Correctional Home on Monday after he experienced breathing issues.

According to hospital sources Partha Chatterjee is being fed through a rice tube.
