  • Kolkata: The storage battery major Exide Industries registered a marginal jump in net profit to Rs 245 crore in the third quarter of this fiscal from Rs 240 crore in the same period last year. The revenue from operations was Rs 3849 crore during the quarter, up from Rs 3841 crore in the year-ago period.

The company registered double-digit growth in both the two-wheeler and four-wheeler replacement segments. However, demand from automotive OEMs remained muted, leading to a dip in performance in Auto OEM.

Commenting on the performance, Avik Roy, MD & CEO, said: "Our operating profitability remains steady with EBITDA and PBT margins of 11.7% and 8.5%, respectively, in the current quarter, benefiting from relatively stable commodity prices and a focus on cost excellence."
