FICCI & CII’s exec council meets to converge at BGBS ’25

Kolkata: For the third time in succession, the national executive council meetings of apex chambers FICCI and CII will converge at the Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS). The 8th edition of the Feb 5-6 summit will also witness the largest international delegation and may feature prominent figures like Mukesh Ambani and Sajjan Jindal.
Sources in FICCI and CII said almost 30 leading industry captains from across the country would attend the national executive council meetings of this mega business event. BGBS 2025 will kick off with these two meetings, which may also be attended by CM Mamata Banerjee for some time. Both meetings would be held at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, the inaugural venue.

In the last 50 years, this has happened 5-6 times, and two of the venues were the 6th and 7th editions of BGBS.
CII national president Sanjiv Puri, who is also the chairman of ITC Ltd, and other prominent members of the chamber are likely to attend the meeting. Interestingly, after many years, both the national presidents of FICCI and CII are from Kolkata. FICCI national president Harsh Agrwal will lead the federation's delegation.
FICCI senior vice-president and vice-chairman of RPG Group, Anand Goenka, Sanmar Group chairman Vijay Sankar, along with past presidents like Adventz Group chairman Saroj Poddar, Shree Cement vice-chairman Prashant Bangur, chairman of Lalit Suri Hospitality Group, Jyotsna Suri, Harsh Neotia, and others are also expected to attend.
This year, BGBS is focusing on sectors like manufacturing and industries, including MSME, advanced manufacturing, circular economy, natural resources and defence manufacturing, agri and allied, international trade and logistics, tourism, knowledge economy, including IT and ITes, health, health education and health infrastructure, education, creative economy and film industry, among others.
