Kolkata: A day after the Calcutta High Court asked Manas Chakraborti to resign from the West Bengal Medical Council (WBMC) registrar's post, he tendered his resignation. Sources in the council said the written test for recruiting the registrar and an assistant registrar will be held on Feb 7.
"Manas Chakraborti was occupying this post unlawfully since his retirement in 2019. During this time, he engaged in various unethical activities... We demand a judicial investigation into these actions," said physician Sajal Biswas, General Secretary of the Service Doctors Forum.
