Murder near Bypass eatery: Hunt on for minor’s father
Times of India | 3 February 2025
12 Kolkata: Almost 72 hours after 24-year-old Rafiya Shakil, a resident of Rajarhat,, was murdered by a minor, his mother, and his cousin, witness accounts from near a Bypass dhaba suggest that the accused had an altercation with the victim before the minor chased and stabbed her.
This has made the role of the minor's father — a friend of the victim who was present with her before of the crime — important, and whether he could have possibly averted the incident. The exact moment of him fleeing has also brought him under scanner as he continues to elude the cops.
Raids in neighbouring states have been initiated in this regard.
Investigators learned that Rafiya did not expect to be attacked as she initially held her ground at the tea shop where she was having tea with the minor's father.
Cops said that the minor's father left in his SUV after a quarrel at home last Thursday and had then contacted Rafiya. tnn
