123 Kolkata: An Indian team beat an English side in a two-day friendly T20 tournament at the Maidan on Sunday. In the second edition of the Bengal-Britain Travel Friendship Cup 2025 – an initiative to boost tourism, cultural exchange, and cricket ties between the two countries – the team of Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) beat the British Deputy High Commission (BDHC) in a semi-final match and then went on to win the final against the team of Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI).
The two-day tournament, which began on Saturday, was organised by the British deputy high commission in collaboration with travel trade partners at the Police Athletic Club. Two semi-finals were played on the first day and the final on Sunday.
On Sunday morning, a women's T10 exhibition match, Tigress vs Lioness, featured a mixed team of women from the travel and tourism trade. Lioness was victorious. In the final between TAFI and TAAI, the former was crowned the champion.
