Kolkata: The state higher education department on Tuesday blamed JU for failing to submit claims on time after the teachers' association alleged the university did not receive financial aid from the department, leading to a delay in salary.
JUTA general secretary Partha Pratim Ray said, "The university paid the Dec '24 salaries and pensions by breaking into FDs. The govt did not send funds for Jan salaries and pensions... ." An education official said, "JU didn't submit claims on time. We have no intention to deprive any university. The process has been initiated and the funds will be cleared soon." tnn
