Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat is expected to visit West Bengal on a 10-day tour for organisational work, as informed by the RSS West Bengal unit on February 5.
In a press conference held by Jishnu Basu, general secretary of RSS Bengal, it was said that Mohan Bhagwat is supposed to hold multiple rounds of discussions with the Sangh Karyakartas and pracharaks.
According to the itinerary, Bhagwat will arrive in Kolkata on February 6. From February 7 to February 10, he will be in Kolkata at Keshav Bhawan and meet Sangh Karyakartas and senior Sangh members.
On February 11 and February 12, he would be holding an important meeting with the Central leadership of the Sangh at Kolkata’s Akhil Bharatiya Toli Baithak. Then on February 13, he would be heading for Central Bengal, Burdwan. On February 14, Bhagwat will inaugurate a new Sangh office and on February 1, he will hold a meeting for all Sangh Karyakartas at the Sai Complex in Talit, Burdwan.
“Our RSS family’s favourite person, friend, philosopher, and guide Mohan Bhagwat will be here to meet all the regional members,” Basu said.
Bhagwat’s meeting would be focused on operational success, and increasing the RSS’s membership. While fielding a question on whether Bhagwat’s visit to West Bengal in the 100th year of the organisation and before the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections had any political motive, senior members of the RSS said that the visit was purely for organisational purposes.
“This tour was decided last year in March 2024, it is a routine tour,” Basu told The Indian Express.
