Kolkata: In a unique gesture to appreciate and honour the contribution of sports in the society, the city of Kolkata will stage the International Sports Film Festival of India (ISFFI) from Feb 11 to 15. The five-day event will screen a total of 24 films in different languages from 12 countries across the world.

"Along with the movies, biopics of legendary athletes will also be screened through an audio-visual format," he added.
Suman Barman, a member of India's recent kho kho World Cup men's winning squad welcomed the initiative calling for the need for more sports-theme based films. "Films play a crucial role in inspiring young and aspiring athletes. More sports stories should be brought to the screen to motivate the next generation," he felt.
The festival will also extend its screenings to Siliguri, New Delhi, Lucknow and Port Blair also.
