123 Howrah: A road accident on GT Road in the Dewangazi area under Bally police station at 1 am on Thursday left a cab passenger and the driver dead. A concrete mixer truck crashed into the cab head on, completely crushing it. Four motorcyclists following the cab were also injured.
The taxi was completely mangled. The driver and a passenger were brought out by cutting open the mangled steel of the vehicle with a gas cutter. The injured were taken to the hospital. The incident caused a long traffic jam on GT Road.
The deceased have been identified as driver Siyarama Prasad (39)and passenger Dibyendu Debnath (32).
