Kolkata: The second edition of French Film Festival in Kolkata will kick off on Feb 22 with the world premier of a French movie that was shot extensively in Kolkata. Officials said the world premiere of ‘Delocalises', by Ali Bougheraba and starring Redouane Bougheraba, and shot in Kolkata between Feb and April 2024, will set the tone for the festival that will continue till March 1. Eighty movies across six categories will be screened.
The categories are French animation films, classics featuring masterpieces from Jean-Luc Godard, Francois Truffaut, Costa-Gavras and Claude Sautet, contemporary cinema, David Foenkinos retrospective, Call of the Mountains featuring films from France and Bhutan and Indian in Cannes. Indian films to be screened are ‘The Shameless', ‘Manto', ‘Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi', ‘Manthan', ‘Abar Aranye', ‘Raahgir', ‘Ghare Baire' and ‘Kharij'.
