12 Kolkata: Two lawyers riding towards Bidhannagar ACJM court from Barasat court, chased down a snatcher and molester, at 11.15 am on Friday near Kaikhali on VIP Road. Cops from Baguiati PS arrested the accused, Korak Chowdhury, a resident of Lake Town.
Chowdhury tried to snatch a cellphone from one of the lawyers and touched them inappropriately when they stopped their two-wheeler at a traffic signal in Kaikhali. When the man attempted to run away, the lawyer riding pillion chased him down. In their complaint the women mentioned that Chowdhury first tried to hop on a bus and, when denied, sneaked inside a metro construction site. But the lawyer had already spotted him and ran inside. The metro workers, upon learning about the man's activity, held him back and called the cops.
An officer said, " Chowdhury has been remanded in judicial custody till March 1."
