2 die, 1 critical while cleaning septic tank in Nandigram

Nandigram: Two workers died on Sunday while cleaning a septic tank without protective gear in Vekutia village under Nandigram police station while the homeowner is in critical state. The deceased were identified as Manash Giri and Mrityunjay Jana. Homeowner Kanai Jana is being treated at Nandigram Super Speciality Hospital.
According to local sources, there had been issues with the septic tank at Kanai's house for some time. He and the two workers went inside the tank to clean it, the trio lost consciousness due to toxic fumes.
Family members and neighbours rescued them and rushed them to hospital, where doctors declared Manash and Mrityunjay dead. Kanai's daughter-in-law, who had also inhaled the fumes, was discharged after treatment.
