Kolkata: Chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday said in the state assembly that the Ringer's Lactate saline batch was tested in the laboratories and the saline was found to be safe.
In January, a woman died and three other women were critically ill after they were administered Ringer's Lactate saline at Midnapore Medical College. Following the incident, the govt stopped administering it and ordered a CID probe.
The CM said there was a campaign to malign her govt, and now it was proved in the NABL labs that the Ringer's Lactate was safe.
She said the health department was concerned with the health of the people, and for this reason, all samples of drugs were tested to ensure they were safe for patients.
Earlier, BJP opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari criticised the CM for the death, and he took some of the relatives of patients who fell ill to the governor to protest.
