1 arrested at airport for Cambodia digi-arrest fraud

Kolkata: A day after immigration officials at Kolkata airport apprehended a key member of an organised crime racket running a digital-arrest fraud from Cambodia, one of his associates was arrested at Kolkata airport on Monday.
Md Tausif was apprehended when he reported for immigration clearance to board a Bangkok-bound Thai Airways flight. Immigration officials handed him over to Netaji Subhas Cha-ndra Bose International Airport PS and he is currently under police custody.
Cops said Tausif, from Howrah Shibpur, was stopped on the basis of prior information following the arrest of his employer Mohsin Shaikh from Goa.
"He confessed that he is an agent who facilitates Indian people to work in the digital scam company in Cambodia by taking money. Recently, he helped in the transit of four Indians to Cam-bodia and got Rs 1 lakh for each," said an officer.
Cops said the man confessed he was part of the racket that ran a fake call centre-cum-office in Cambodia with a group of men he illegally trafficked to Cambodia from India.
