Former Indian cricket captain and ex-Board of Control for Cricket in India president Sourav Ganguly was involved in an accident on Thursday after his Range Rover and another vehicle collided on Durgapur Expressway in West Bengal. Ganguly, who was on his way to attend an event in Bardhaman, was unharmed.
According to reports, the accident occurred during heavy rain near Dantanpur on Thursday afternoon after a lorry driver applied sudden brakes. While Ganguly’s driver managed to hit the brakes in time and avoid hitting the lorry, the two vehicles following his vehicle were involved in a minor collision.
The Dadpur police said that two vehicles in Ganguly’s convoy suffered slight damage, but the drivers were uninjured.
“His driver regained control and hit the brakes, preventing a more serious incident. The sudden stop caused a chain reaction and led to a collision involving several other vehicles, including one that rear-ended Ganguly’s car. Ganguly himself was unharmed. After assessing the situation, he proceeded towards his destination,” a local traffic official said.
