Kolkata Police on Saturday ruled out the role of outsiders in connection with the triple murder of two women and a minor girl, in Kolkata’s Tangra area earlier this week.
According to police sources, the husbands of the two women, whose bodies along with that of a minor girl were found in their Kolkata residence, are likely to be arrested soon.
On February 19, a car with three men — Pranay Dey, his younger brother Prasun Dey, and Pranay’s minor son — crashed into a pillar near Abhishikta More on EM Bypass.
During questioning, Pranay allegedly made a startling admission: they had intentionally crashed the car in a “suicide attempt” and his family members — his wife and teenage daughter and his sister-in-law – had already died by suicide. “The timing of the death of is much before the time when the brothers were captured in CCTV cameras leaving the house, which establishes the fact they knew the victims were dead inside the house. Post-mortem reports have already indicated homicide,” a senior police officer said.
