Stockbroker held for duping home cook of 8L in New Town

123 Kolkata: A stockbroker, posing as a senior nationalised bank official, duped his domestic help of Rs 8 lakh. The accused, Saurabh Kumar, had taken the money promising a job for the help's physically disabled husband. Kumar was arrested on Saturday.
It was found that he had duped several victims using posing as govt officials, police said.

She said she handed over money from fixed deposits, sold off her jewellery, and even a toto the family owned. However, by the end of last year, she realised she was being duped and demanded the money back. "Kumar assaulted and threatened my family and even terminated me from the job. I went to the police in Jan. I lodged a complaint again on Feb 13, following which he was arrested," she said.
