Kolkata: State home secretary Nandini Chakravorty on Monday convened a meeting with senior officials of Kolkata Police, state, and RVNL to sort out the Chingrighata impasse in the New Garia-Airport corridor. But dates for granting traffic blocks for girder-launching have not been decided yet.
TOI has reported that delays in securing permission for traffic diversion in Chingrighata have come in the way of the Orange Line's Phase II launch. RVNL is targeting April to launch the 8.8 km Ruby-Sector V section. It has built a road through Captain Bheri and Dhapa Lock Pumping Station to Chingrighata for traffic to be diverted while the Ultadanga-bound flank is closed on three nights. — Ajanta Chakraborty
