  • Kolkata: A written complaint was submitted to the Presidency University authorities regarding the harassment complaints reported on Saturday. A UG second-year female student from the maths department, along with some other female students, wrote on social media about harassment by individuals, including some alumni, last Friday during the cultural fest. The programme was even stopped due to a scuffle between two groups of students, where many female students were present.

Although complaints from both groups were lodged with the Jorasanko police station, a formal written complaint with the signatures of the complainants was submitted to the university authorities on Monday following a general body meeting by general students.

Dean of students Arun Kumar Maity said, "They made complaints to all the grievance redressal committees regarding the matter. Now, each committee will review all the complaints and take appropriate decisions according to the rules and regulations."
