  • Kolkata: The state cabinet decided to set up a trustee board for the Jagannath Temple at Digha, headed by chief secretary Manoj Pant, on Monday. There will be 27 trustees including representatives from ISKCON, Ramakrishna Mission, and other religious bodies. During its first meeting on Thursday, the board will discuss the temple inauguration scheduled on Akshay Tritiya, April, 30, said chief minister Mamata Banerjee.

The CM and other senior officials are expected to visit Digha for the inauguration. Banerjee said she was against creating propaganda which may trigger a mad rush to the temple on inauguration day. The temple was constructed by HIDCO, a state agency.
