123 Kolkata: The body of a 31-year-old law clerk was found opposite the Technician Studio on Uttam Kumar Sarani around 3 am on Wednesday. Police said the victim, identified as Anup Mondal, was a resident of Mondapara, close to Thakurpukur Cancer Hospital in Haridevpur.
Police said that a preliminary enquiry shows the victim was working as a clerk under a senior advocate in a court in the city. Two people were with him who fled after the incident. Cops are trying to ascertain the identity of the two men.
"All three were on one bike returning from a late-night party. The bike crossed a bumper when Mondal fell. His helmet came off and landed a metre away. He died from injuries received on his head," said Bidisha Kalita, DC (SSD-Jadavpur). Cops said that a guard at a bus parking lot and a delivery agent are prime witnesses.
