123 Kolkata: A startup incubated by the Bengal Chamber of Commerce received seed funding of Rs 4 crore from Artha Ventures, at a valuation of Rs 28 crore. The company — Hornet Decentratech — is a crypto forensics and investigation platform. A part of the funding was from angel investor Deepak Daftari. Hornet said this strategic investment would fuel its expansion into B2C, B2B and B2G markets by enhancing risk analysis tools, strengthening regulatory compliance solutions.
Bengal Chamber president Arnab Basu said: "Bengal Chamber has been anchoring the Webel-BCC&l Tech Incubation Centre, and identifying promising startups. Startups like Hornet has the potential to accelerate startup movement."
Hornet CEO Souvik Haldar stated: "This funding validates our vision to make India self-reliant in crypto and dark web forensics. As institutions face increasing challenges related to anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing compliance, Hornet remains committed to equipping crypto exchanges with the best-in-class solutions."
