Kolkata: A young woman and a 16-year-old girl were run over by the Hate Bazare Express around 9.45 pm on Wednesday when the two were crossing the railway tracks at Sodepur station. The body of the teenaged girl, Koyel Roy from Sodepur, was dragged through seven stations before the train stopped at Naihati.
"The two were crossing the tracks from platform 3 to 4. While one body was found at the accident site, the other got stuck to the engine's cowcatcher and was carried all the way to Naihati," said Sanjoy Chakraborty, IC, Dum Dum GRP told TOI.
"Koyel, daughter of Kamal Roy, was a resident of Rani Rashmoni Nagar, Sodepur. We are identifying the other victim," said John Marcy, SRP, Sealdah. —Sanjib Chakraborty
