Cops bust call centre selling fake antique materials

Kolkata: Bidhannagar Police busted a fake call centre, operating under the name, "NEXT-era Energy Solution", at Ecosuit Building, in the Eco Park police station area. The fraudsters duped people by selling them fake radioactive materials, claiming them to be antique materials, said police.
The prime accused, Hemanta Sarkar, was arrested during a raid on the premises. Police said the fraudsters told their targets that the materials were several centuries old and that it could be sold in foreign nations at a very high price for its antique value.
"Investigations revealed the agency duped people by selling fake antique articles at high prices. We have seized chemicals, protective gear and a laptop they used. A case has been registered and the accused has been taken into police custody," a senior Bidhannagar City Police officer said.
