  • 12 Kolkata: The Bengal administration is going to convene a meeting on Monday to execute investment proposals amounting to around Rs 4.5 lakh crore, which were proposed during the Bengal Global Business Summit held in Feb. Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee will preside over the meeting at Nabanna, which will be attended by officials from various departments and prominent industry representatives.

The WBIDC, which hosted the BGBS, will try to accelerate the business proposals ahead of the assembly election year, said sources. The state plans to facilitate the proposals of the investors and approve them through a single-window system. A committee headed by chief secretary Manoj Pant has already been formed for this. This ensures that both pollution-related clearance and law and order issues can be well tackled, which is a major concern for the investors.

Through Monday's meeting, the investor image of the state will be displayed to the industries, an official said, adding that the new industries will help in creating more jobs.
