• Bengal: RSS begins two-day meet in Howrah to discuss 2026 Aseembly poll strategy

  • The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Saturday began its two-day coordination meeting ‘Samanya Baithak’, in Tantiberia, Uluberia, in Howrah, focussing on the upcoming West Bengal Assembly Elections in 2026.

    According to sources the meeting will focus on how to strengthen the organisation’s presence in the state, organize effective programmes and how to attract more voters as well as discussing a blueprint for the upcoming Assembly Elections in 2026.

    According to sources, top leaders of Bengal RSS along with representatives of the neighbouring states will attend the meeting.

    Additionally, members of 57 organisations including Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Vidya Bharti, will also be present.

    Top leaders of state BJP will also be present in the meeting, said sources, adding that Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar, Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, former MPs Dilip Ghosh, Locket Chatterjee and BJP leader Rahul Sinha have also been invited for the meeting.

    Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat had visited West Bengal on a 10-day tour for organisational work last month.

    Meanwhile, after 2011, it is for the first time that such a meeting will be held in Bengal, said sources, adding that in the last ten-twelve years, it was discussed to hold such a meeting, but never implemented.
