Road repair work starts across all Salt Lake wards

123 Kolkata: Road repairs across Salt Lake and adjoining areas formally started on Monday, beginning with a stretch in Nayapatti in Ward 28 adjoining Salt Lake.
State fire and emergency services dept minister and Bidhannagar MLA Sujit Bose was present at the site along with BMC mayor Krishna Chakraborty and other civic officials to formally launch the road repair programme for 14 wards of the civic body covering Salt Lake and its adjoining areas. Work will continue for the next one month.
"The state govt has sanctioned Rs 25 crore for road repairs in 14 wards across Salt Lake, out of which Rs 4 crore work is to be done in Ward 28 covering Nayapatti and other areas. Besides, KMDA has also prepared a Rs 12 crore road repair scheme, out of which Rs 4.5 crore has been sanctioned," Bose said. The state govt is in the process of sanctioning funds for road repair work for the rest of the wards, he added.
