CIL aims for net-zero emissions with solar power push

12 Kolkata: Coal India wanted to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by stepping up solar power generation, chairman P M Prasad said at the AGM of Bharat Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday. The coal behemoth was also giving major stress to underground mining, he added.
Later, Union minister for coal and mines, G Kishan Reddy, said the country was on growth track and most sectors were doing well. The outgoing president of Bharat Chamber, N G Khaitan, also addressed the members. Senior vice-president Naresh Pachisia took over as the new president of the chamber.
