123 Kolkata: Bengal BJP will move the Election Commission in New Delhi on March 11 over alleged discrepancies in the electoral roll.
"We will submit a memorandum to the EC regarding the activation of measures like fingerprinting and biometrics," BJP state president Sukanta Majumdar said.
He added that the party had discovered almost 17 lakh discrepancies like double entries, fake and missing voters in the state.
Earlier, Majumdar alleged that TMC had devised a strategy to delete the names of Hindi-speaking Hindu voters from electoral rolls based on feedback from DMs and SPs. He accused state govt of terming Hindi-speaking Hindus — particularly those hailing from states like Bihar and UP — as "outsiders" to justify their removal from voter lists.
